Isla Grant - A Daisy For Mama

 

 

 

I was buying some flowers on a moring in May

When a small child came by

오월 어느날 아침에 꽃을 사려고 꽃집에 들렸지요
한 소녀 아이가 내게 다가와 말했습니다

And this she did say "Can you spare me a little"
That's all that I ask just a little
Is all that I need a little Is all that I need well

제 이야기 좀 들어주세요
그것만 부탁드려요 그냥 조금만 들어주심 돼요
잠간 제 이야기 좀 들어주세요

 

I nelt down beside her and held out the flowers
And told her to chose any one

그래서 나는 그애 곁에 앉아 내가 고른 꽃들을 내밀며,
아무 꽃이나 하나 고르라고 말했지요

 

There were bright yellow roses
And sweet violets but a daisy is all
선명한 노랑색 장미와
귀여운 제비꽃들이 있었지만

 

That she chose a daisy is all That she chose.

When I asked her, her name and if she could explaine

그애는 데이지꽃 한송이를 골랐지요 그게 전부였어요
그애 이름을 물으며 설명해 줄 수 있겠냐고 물었지요

 

Why a daisy was all that she wanted
The tears filled her eyes and she started to cry

그애가 원하는 데이지 꽃한송이 뿐인 이유를
눈물을 글썽이며 그애는 울먹이며 말해주었지요

 

She said a daisy reminds me of mama,
A daisy reminds me of mama

데이지 꽃은 엄마를 생각나게 해줘요
데이지 꽃은 엄마를 생각나게 해줘요

 

Mama said heaven has streets that are golden
And sweet angels singing dressed in white,
하늘 나라는 황금으로된 거리가 있고
흰옷입고 노래하는 아름다운 천사가 있다고 엄마가 말씀 하셨어요

 

So you see this small daisy reminds me of mama
For mama 's in heaven to night.

당신이 보고 있는 이 작은 데이지 꽃이 엄마를 생각나게 해요
오늘밤 하늘나라에 계시는 엄마를 위해

 

Mama said heaven has streets that are golden
And sweet angels singing dressed in white

하늘 나라는 황금으로된 거리가 있고
흰옷입고 노래하는 아름다운 천사가 있다고 엄마가 말씀 하셨어요

So you see this small daisy reminds me of mama
For mamas in heaven to night my mamas

당신이 보고 있는 이 작은 데이지 꽃이 엄마를 생각나게 해요
오늘밤 하늘나라에 계시는 엄마를 위해

하늘나라에서 엄마는 주무시겠지요
